AI Innovation of Sweden is open

Friday, February 8, 2019

Now it is open: the new national centre for research and innovation within artificial intelligence – AI Innovation of Sweden. Lindholmen Science Park is serving as the host and Medier & demokrati is planning an initial AI seminar together with the media during the spring.

The aim of AI Innovation of Sweden is to become a driving force in the Swedish AI ecosystem. The focus is to accelerate the implementation of AI by sharing knowledge and data, colocation and collaborative projects. Over 40 companies and organisations within the industrial and academic worlds and the public sector have been on board since the start, and more are expected.

The main financier is Vinnova – Sweden's Innovation Authority – and the venture has been described here by General Director Darja Isaksson:

"Sweden needs to focus its efforts on research and innovation within AI in order to enhance its long-term competitiveness and its opportunities to develop solutions that meet important needs in society.”

Medier & demokrati and the media have kicked off the planning of an initial joint AI seminar.
"We have encountered enormous interest from the commercial sector, academics and the public sector. It now gives us the opportunity to establish a substantial and valuable resource for Sweden. We are convinced that the media will also benefit from and contribute to the development of the acceleration of practical AI implementation," says Martin Svensson, Co-Director for AI Innovation of Sweden at Lindholmen Science Park.

AI Innovation of Sweden is funded by Vinnova, Region Västra Götaland, and partners from the industrial and public sectors, research institutions and the academic world. The host is Lindholmen Science Park. Read more at www.ai.se
