Webbinarium: Hur tech startups driver AI-innovation för mediebranschen

Ett växande ekosystem av nystartade företag levererar AI-lösningar till nyhetsmedier, det framkommer i Medier & demokrati-projektet Automatiseringen av journalistiken. I ett webbinarium den 17 september diskuteras vilka dessa tech startups och entreprenörer är och hur de påverkar branschen.

Sedan 2020 har Jenny Wiik, docent i journalistik vid Göteborgs universitet och före detta flexitforskare vid Lindholmen Science Park, drivit forskningsprojektet Automatiseringen av journalistiken. Syftet har varit att förstå hur nyhetsorganisationer arbetar för att hantera olika kompetenser, arbetsflöden och – ibland – motstridiga mål i innovationsprocesser som rör automatisering och implementering av AI i journalistiken.

Sedan projektets start har två rapporter publicerats: 50 mediechefer om AI och automatisering samt Digitalisering, data och AI förändrar journalistiken och medieaffären

Men mycket har förändrats sedan 2020 vad gäller AI. AI-teknik erbjuder nu stora fördelar för nyhetsbranschen, som riktad reklam, personliga rekommendationer och marknadsinsikter. Utvecklingen är dock kostsam, kräver stora datamängder, specifik kompetens och en innovationsvänlig kultur, vilket många medieföretag saknar. Detta har lett till ett växande ekosystem av nystartade företag som levererar tekniska lösningar och expertis. Företag som i stor utsträckning driver AI-utvecklingen i nyhetsmedier. 

Vilka är dessa företag? Hur ser deras samarbeten med redaktionerna ut? Vad är det för lösningar som köps in? Och i vilken utsträckning kan de sägas förändra journalistiken som marknad och som demokratisk institution? I ett avslutande webbinarium för projektet Automatiseringen av journalistiken utforskas det snabbt växande ekosystem av nystartade företag och entreprenörer som driver AI-innovation för mediebranschen.

Webbinariet äger rum 17 september kl 13-14.30. Webbinariet hålls på engelska och är öppet för alla att delta i.
