New steering group for Media & Democracy in place

Friday, September 1, 2017

The members of Media & Democracy’s new steering group have now been recruited. The new members have broad and in-depth expertise of society in general and the media in particular, says Chairman Jonathan Falck.

The steering group’s duty is to set out the overall direction and strategy of the program and the group will meet three to four times a year.

The members represent all lines that work together in Lindholmen Science Park’s research and innovation program: academia, the business community and public institutions.

In addition to Jonathan Falck, former editor in chief of Göteborgs-Posten and senior advisor to Media & Democracy, the group will comprise the following:

  • Jeanette Gustafsdotter, Managing Director of the Swedish Media Publishers’ Association, which has most of Sweden’s commercial news media companies as its members.
  • Anette Novak, CEO of state research institute RISE Interactive.
  • Robert Olsson, Director of Social Programming at Swedish public service broadcaster Sveriges Television.
  • Ingela Wadbring, media professor and director at Nordicom.
  • Niklas Wahlberg, CEO of Lindholmen Science Park
  • Martin Holmberg, Program Manager at Media & Democracy.

- It will be highly stimulating to discuss the long-term development, subjects and projects of the program in this constellation, says Jonathan Falck.
