The media industry and AI

Data- and AI-driven development is growing in importance and Media & Democracy is leading a national pilot initiative – The Media Industry and AI – together with three media groups and AI Sweden, Sweden's engine for applied AI innovation and research.

The aim is to accelerate media-related technology development with a focus on AI and data-driven journalism, business, product and production development. Mainly via collaborative projects.

The project The Media industry and AI project is financed - in addition to the participating parties Bonnier News Local (Hallmedia), Stampen Media and Sveriges Television – by Vinnova with two million SEK.

The project started in December 2019 and runs until March 2022.

The goal is to strengthen the innovative power of the media, journalism, public discourse and democracy. A priority area for the platform is media-related AI innovation.
